I'm excited to share the crazy things I've learned and seen this week. I've been busy helping the Occupy Wall Street movement which many consider the most important thing in the world. Allow me explain why my blog is dedicated to OWS and spreading information about it. This movement could better your life I believe it will with all my heart. Hundreds of others and I have camped at Occupy Eugene in a tents. I'm glad I have and I plan on staying the winter in the Occupation. The movement has spread world wide and I was lucky that my home town Eugene Oregon has started an occupation. It's the 7th Biggest in the World I believe and getting bigger fast! Portland Oregon is the 2nd biggest! It's a proud time to be an Oregonian and a very finally a proud time to be an American.
We've formed a strong interesting community. There is a very wide range of people, not just bums and hippies like the news wants you to believe. With the range of diversity in the camp it's amazing how well everyone's getting along. For example, there are three groups of street kids that haven't got along with each other in the past, but this movement is SO IMPORTANT that they have called a truce. They've been peaceful with themselves and others. Many have helped promote peace within the whole camp by being Peace Keepers. We also have several mentally ill folks who have no help and need help. They have had to rely on Occupy to help them since there isn't a government agency that will help. Not until a mentally person is a danger to themselves our others will government help. Many of the mentally ill started out violent and disconnected but have really changed from all the love coming from everyone. There are also war vets, scientists, teachers, kids, Christians, atheists, pirates, and so many more groups that you think wouldn't be able to live together. This movement is for Everyone and to spread peace, love, and equality. It has united so many people on common goals. Not allowing labels to separate anyone we have been able to come to 100% consensus on most camp decisions. From financing, location, smoking, drinking, noise, and so many other things you might imagine would be hard to agree on have been surprisingly sorted out. Rules will always be broke but overall the majority of people are able to get along and resolve any issues. It's easy to see why people are supporting Occupy Wall Street with just a little investigation. Just look how much the top five companies paid in taxes. Compare that to what they are paying to campaign contributions. Corporations our clearly Buying Out Our Politicians!

Charts like these show how much change must happen in our government. Don't let anyone tell you that the big corporation pay the most in taxes, because it is the Complete Opposite. These big corporation who haven't payed federal taxes are all breaking record profits. I pay taxes, you pay taxes, why don't they pay taxes? We're in the biggest recession in history since the great depression. Caused by the connections that Wall Street, Corportations, Politicians, and Government. We bailed out banks and huge corporations back in 2008 for 7 Trillion Dollars and they want more today! They caused the housing crash and collapse of our economy. Bailing out the corporations was the worst thing we could of done. A friend said to me "if the banks crashed it could of been worse." which I didn't agree with. The banks which have been quoted as "To Big To Fail" should of been left to fail. The result would of been a breaking up of the big banks and there monopoly. Three banks own every other bank! This Graph shows how Wells Fargo, Bank of America and Citi Bank own them all---> STUNNING BANK INFOGRAPHIC <---- It's off one of my new favorite facebook pages you should visit. We need smaller government and to not allow monopolies like we are in today.
These protests are getting Huge! There has been record breaking numbers making it the biggest protest movement in history. Just look at this pick of 100,000+ people Taking Over this highway and many parts of Oakland.
Huge crowds swarmed through downtown Oakland with at least 6 major marches at banks and corporations like Wells Fargo, Chase, Citibank, Bank of America and many others. Here and article on the biggest GENERAL STRIKE in almost 50 years!
What caused the Occupy Oakland crowd to shut down the forth biggest port in the world and all those banks for a full 24 hours? Well a day before this huge strike Army Veteran Scott Olsen was Shot by Police in the head and was hospitalized. That's him moments before he was hospitalized in the video to the left. Notice how peaceful and proud he is standing up for his country and the Occupy Movement. Then out of nowhere a tear gas canister hits him in the head hospitalizing him with severe wounds. Watch this video showing police Flash Bomb the people trying to rescue him as they stand there doing nothing! All this because of a non violent protest? Under constitutional rights all these people have the right to peacefully assembly, that's one of are main rights we have as Americans. That right was brutally been taken each day cops raid these peaceful protesters.
Who are these police protecting is a real big question that comes to mind? No one was threatening anyone else and were all within there constitutional rights so how could they justify these violent measures? They can't justify them. They have little support of taking measure like this since about 93% of people agree with Occupy Wall Street. The reason this can happen is the 1% are who controls the police and the news. We are spending tax dollars to defend the 1%, so who are these people. Obviously the Banks and huge corporations but how many of these ultra rich people are in our politics and even our congress? The graph shows a little about that.

| 50% of Congress are the 1%! |
The graph shows that 50% of our congress are in the top 1% of earners in the world. The super rich make decisions for the public and have obviously done so to benefit themselves on many levels. This is a Huge problem that needs to be addressed. It has got so much worse in just short amount of time. The super rich caused the housing bubble in 2008 resulting in millions of people losing there homes and crashed wall street. We are now in the biggest recession in history. We spend Trillions on war but let people starve and lose there houses. More people are aware of all these unreal facts about our government than ever before and have been coming together and speaking up. We've been betrayed so I am protesting for Everyone.
So what can we do as citizens to make a change? Can this Occupy thing actually help fix anything? YES it can! Not only has this movement addressed the problems it has started discussions about fixing them. Many of the things OWS has brought attention to are hard to discuss. These problems we face today are very important to address and with millions of people working at solutions there will be great change.
Check out what Warren Buffett wrote about Congress and what we could do to fix it immediately He claims he could end the deficit in 5 min. Keep in mind Warren is part of the 1% and isn't a role model for OWS. Some of the statement below might not be 100% true but this is still a great educational piece to read. Even if you don't like him we can learn from everyone.
"I could end the deficit in 5 minutes," he told CNBC. "You just pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible for re-election. The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds) took only 3 months & 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple! The people demanded it. That was in 1971...before computers, e-mail, cell phones, etc. Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took 1 year or less to become the law of the land...all because of public pressure. Warren Buffet is asking each addressee to forward this email to a minimum of twenty people on their address list; in turn ask each of those to do likewise. In three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message. This is one idea that really should be passed around. *Congressional Reform Act of 2011* 1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office. 2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose. 3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do. 4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%. 5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people. 6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people. 7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/12. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen. Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term's), then go home and back to work. If each person contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will only take three days for most people (in the U.S.) to receive the message. Maybe it is time. THIS IS HOW YOU FIX CONGRESS!!!!! If you agree with the above, pass it on.

It will take more than 5 minutes but you get the point. There are solutions to our problems and many people coming together to find them. I believe the Occupy movement will make a change. Like Warren said when the people demand change it happens. The General Strike is a great example of how fast people will come together. Big changes have also happened because of the Nov. 5th Bank Transfer Day which provides an example of a solution anyone can do. "Remember Remember the 5th of November" which came from the movie V for Vendetta, a must watch if you haven't. The movie turned into reality yesterday as tens of thousands of people took action and closed there bank accounts. About a Million people switched to a credit union this month alone, more than all of 2010 Combined! The article below says 650,000 at least and after the 5th the number has climbed fast. The news of how many people have switched accounts has inspired many others to join in. I sure hope you read this article below and decide to switch banks.
1,000,000 Americans Joined Credit Unions Within a Month — More Than In All Of 2010 Combined
Even though I haven't slept at the camp the last week I still have been very involved from home. In Eugene we have finally found a permanent camping spot and I plan on staying down there. I will keep everyone posted on what it's like to actually live in the camp while also trying to keep up to date on current occupy events world wide. Even if you can't camp you can help a lot from home. Start a blog, post on facebook, share YouTube videos, etc. Please stay aware of the movement world wide and be as active as possible. Anything from reading an article each night, posting on social media, our just talking with a friend about it, anything helps. THANK YOU!
Follow my blog, Twitter, and YouTube for up to date info and also check out the Occupy Blog. Thanks for reading take care. Peace and Love Sincerely Joe Mama
